Don’t take laws into your hands, NUATE President, Eta advises newly inaugurated Bayelsa Excos
The President of the National Union of Air Transport Employee, NUATE, represented by Elder Charles ETA has advised the newly inaugurated executive to always work in turn with the law and shun anything contrary in their service.
Mr. Eta in his remarks said it is a great joy seeing Bayelsa workers to be part of NUATE, added it will bring smooth and mutual understanding between the workers and the management for the welfare of worker’s to be well achieved. He also urged the EXCOs members to read the constitution to guide them in any further matters and solicit for legal support which is the best answer.
Mean while addressing the members, the Airport the Managing Director of the AirPort, Air Vice Marshal Nelson Calmday (Rtd.) represented by the Airport Manager Mr Ejeta Akpos thanked the National Body for their efforts, believing that it will create good relationship between the workers and the management to put things in order for the betterment of the Airport by joining hands with the management to make sure, Bayelsa Airport, BIA achieve its arm.
Also in his input the Chairman Bayelsa State NLC Comrade Barnabas, represented by the Assistant Financial Sectary Comrade Henry Olukpo, while addressing Newsmen said every working environment, respectfully there most be a union for the workers to champion their course, to be motivated in the place of work, Comrade Olukpo, stressed that if workers are not properly motivated base on the service rule, workers can’t put in their best.
Also, Comrade UkEME UTUK the Chairman of Akwa Ibom Branch give his good will message advising Bayelsa EXCOs to use the NUATE constitution to address any stipulated issues. That even AkwaIbom workers are just in this condition denying their rights for many allowances.
On his comment while engaging with Journalists the state Chairman of NUATE comrade Atie Okubokekeme said he is delighted “for time like this, that BIA staff’s are praying for these to champion it’s course, the NUATE constitution will guide the EXCOs to follow due constitutional process to demand the workers right. Comrade Atie noted that the body will make sure they work together to achieve common goal to promote the Airport Nation wide and International, also using the medium to appeal to the management to put things in order for smooth running of the airport”.
