**As Ogbuku hails President Tinubu for funding NDDC

The Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori Friday October 17 has commissioned the newly built Delta State Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Office in Warri with assurance that the State Government is set to commence construction works on the Omadino/Escravos road.

Oborevwori in his remarks during the commissioning solicited for partnership of the NDDC in fixing federal roads in the State. While noting that the federal roads are a nightmare, Oborevwori said that’s why he embarked on the construction of the Warri-Sapele-Benin road. According to him,the road from the roundabout axis to Ohore cost #35.7billion naira.”

Oborevwori urged the NDDC to partner the State Government on how to fix the roads stressing that,”The State is ready to partner with NDDC in fixing the roads. Delta State is not afraid in embarking on any project.”

He commended the NDDC Managing Director, Chief Samuel Ogbuku for completing the NDDC Model office with State of the arts facility in Delta State.

Earlier, the Minister,Regional Development,Engr. Abubakar Momoh said his office has started the partnership pointing out that he got a letter to that effect a week ago. Engr. Momoh said construction works on the Escravos/Omadino road will soon soon commence as soon as they get approval from the President who he said is aware of the partnership. He said the office is built to enhance/increase the productivity of Staff of the NDDC. He enjoined the NDDC Staff to ensure that the facilities in the newly commissioned office are not vandalized but put into good use.

The Chairman,NDDC Governing Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie Esq, on behalf of the board solicited the partnership of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori led Delta State Government in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the “M.O.R.E Agenda” of the Governor Oborevwori. He appealed to the governor to consider the Escravos/Warri road which he said is a priority to the people of the area.

The Managing Director/CEO,NDDC, Chief Samuel Ogbuku said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has funded the NDDC more than any other presidents in Nigeria. He stressed that during the reign of President Tinubu, the NDDC does not abandon projects.

He said the NDDC is not just a “interventionist agency” adding that Delta State has moved from rented apartment to his own office.

Ogbuku said,the Commission is going for partnership with the Niger Delta Governors to deliver its projects on time.

He said the abandonment of major projects in the Niger Delta is not the fault of the NDDC.

He said the newly commissioned NDDC is for the use of its staff for better/improved productivity.

NDDC Executive Director(Projects), Sir. Victor Antai said the newly commissioned office is equipped with model facilities including CCTV Security network to provide a secured environment for its staff.

in a remark,the Chairman, Senate Committee on NDDC, Sen. Asuquo Ekpeyong urged the Management of the NDDC to strive for greater impact in the years ahead as well as promote lasting peace in the Niger Delta region.

The Chairman,House Committee on NDDC in the House of Representatives, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu also applauded the NDDC Management for the completion of the project in the heart of Warri.
