College of Commerce Warri Old Students Association, COCOSA unveils activities for School’s 80th anniversary celebration

**To launch 200 million Naira endowment fund

College of Commerce Warri Old Students Association COCOSA has announced a 5-day programme of activities to celebrate the School’s 80th Anniversary from Wednesday April 22nd to Sunday April 26, 2026.

Highlight of the unveiled calendar of activities is an endowment Fundraising of 200 Million Naira to galvanise alumni home and abroad as well as critical stakeholders towards renewed structural and infrastructural uplift of the School as well as the alumni secretariat.

Chairman of the COCOSA 80th Anniversary Central Planning Committee, High Chief Reginald Amadi and COCOSA National President, Chief Enijuni Kolawole Victor in a statement made available to journalists through the COCOSA 80th Anniversary Publicity Sub-Committee Chairman, Celestine Ukah, noted that the activities designed for the celebration have been carefully put together in line with the Association’s mission to serve as a reconnection point for former students of College of Commerce Warri which is the oldest secondary school in Warri and its environs as well as drive educational and infrastructural projects to ensure that current students have the best possible standard of learning.

The statement further stated that apart from the Fundraising, conversation to reunite alumni of all Year Sets would be organised.

Chief Amadi and Chief Enijuni noted that the objective is to foster greater bonding among the alumni and rally them to unite in demonstrating loyalty, commitment and passion for the well-being and progress of the School.

According to the Central Planning Committee Chairman Chief Amadi and President Enijuni, “For 80 remarkable years, College of Commerce Warri has stood as a beacon of learning, growth, and community transformation, shaping generations of thinkers, leaders, and dreamers. As we celebrate its historic 80th anniversary milestone, there is a great need not just for celebrating its ubiquitous legacy but, more importantly, addressing its pressing areas of need through an impactful spirit of giving back.

“This 80th Anniversary celebration is therefore designed to honour the rich history of the School and showcase its enduring impact to the whole world as the celebration is going to be very loud across Warri, Delta State and Nigeria the statement explained.

Ukah who’s also COCOSA National Public Relations Officer PRO, enjoined fellow Alma Mater members as well as staff, stakeholders and well wishers to come celebrate with the oldest secondary school in Warri and pride of Delta.

Notable Personalities expected at the event grandfinale holding Sunday April 26 at Jubilee Hall, Enerhen Road, Effurun include: Chairman of AMAREG Global Concept Ltd, Chief Amadi, The Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi JP, Royal Father of the Day, His Royal Majesty King Kingsley Emakpo Orereh Igbi II Ovie Of Agbarha-Warri Kingdom, Royal Guest Of Honour: HRM Andy Kayoma Osawota, Adaka I (ovie Of Orogun Kingdom) HRM Oba Olanrewaju Ayeromara (the Regent Of Irele Kingdom) and HRH John Holt Ologho Immediate Past Regent Of Emevor Kingdom
