**Upholds Federal High Court Judgment Against Ekpoto
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, October 14, affirmed the judgment of the Federal High Court upholding the candidacy of Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Delivering judgment, the Court held that the Federal High Court was right to have held that the suit instituted by Ekpoto Emmanuel Ekpoto relates to internal party affairs, over which the court lacks jurisdiction.
The Court further held that even if the evidence tendered by all parties were to be considered on its merits, the case would still be decided in favour of Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi as the authentic candidate of the APC.
It would be recalled that the Federal High Court had earlier dismissed the suit filed by Ekpoto Emmanuel challenging the candidature of Rep. Ereyitomi for the 2027 Warri Federal Constituency race.
Consequently, the Court affirmed Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, the Member representing Warri Federal Constituency, as the authentic candidate of the APC for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in 2027.
