Delta: Rotary Club Ogunu Earmarks Sixteen Million Naira For Community Development

Rotary Club Ogunu , Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State has earmarked sixteen million naira for community development in the year 2022/2023 .

The newly installed President of Rotary club of Ogunu Rotarian Michael Odili made the disclosure in his address during the ceremony held at Shell Club Ogunu on Saturday 27th August, 2022 .
He stated that the investiture ceremony was the 5th since the existence of the club.

Rotarian Odili listed the community development projects to include the purchase of an ambulance bus for Ogunu Health Centre at the cost of Ten Million Naira, empowerment program for the girl child in Ogunu, Okurode (Ekurede Urhobo) and Ugbuwangue communities at the cost of two million naira, purchase of writing desks in Ogunu Primary School and Esibovwe Primary School Okurode ( Ekurede Urhobo) at the cost of two million naira and renovation of a block of class rooms in Esibovwe Primary School Okurode (Ekurede Urhobo ) at the cost of Two million naira, Rtn Odili appealed to members, friends of the club, corporate organisations and public spirited Nigerians to donate generosity towards the execution of the laudable community projects.

The outgone President of Rotary Club Ogunu, Rtn Moses Maichibi in his brief speech, listed the fencing of Ogunu Health Centre, purchase of teaching desks in Esibovwe Primary School , Okurode and Ugbuwangue Primary School, provision of micro finance loans , enlightenment campaign on postrate , induction of nine members among others as achievements in his tenure.
Rtn Moses Maichibi promised to assist his successor.

He had earlier appreciated members for their support during his tenure.
The chairman Presidential installation committee of Rotary Club Ogunu Rtn , Sunny Popo in his address also appealed to friends of the club, corporate bodies and well meaning Nigerians to contribute towards the actualization of the projects listed by the New President of the Club Rtn Michael Odili .

Gbubemi Odeworitse , Dede Syvelster and Effiom Ayito were inducted as members of Rotary Club of Ogunu at the epoch making event.

High points of the event were the investiture of Rtn Odili Emeke Michael as the 5th President of Rotary Club of Ogunu, cutting of cake of the investiture ceremony and merit awards on some outstanding members of Rotary club of Ogunu and other Rotarians

Ereyitomi congratulates Deltans @31 says Delta advancing in Development

The Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja and the House Committee Deputy Chairman on Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Thomas Ereyitomi JP has congratulated Deltans and Warri federal constituents as the state clocked 31 years of age.

Chief Dr. Ereyitomi described Delta State as a state that’s advancing in all sides Development compared to when it was created in 1991 till date , noting that the Democratic dispensation of civilian administrations have brought in development in critical infrastructures and other basic social needs of the people across the state.

The Warri federal lawmaker commended former governors of Delta state, Olorogun Felix Ibru blessed memory, Chief James Ibori who really took time to reposition the state to the part of progress it started enjoying, sustained by former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and off course the Prosperity agenda of governor Ifeanyi Okowa all impacting lives positively through advancing the state in different areas.

Rep Ereyitomi urged Deltans to continue their support for the government, assuring all Warri federal constituents of attracting more meaningful and robust representation in 2023 to the three Warri LGAs of the federal constituency.

Aja-Etan, Usor communities, others pay homage to Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III

In order to reaffirm their absolute loyalty to the Olu of Warri, Aja-Etan community in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State and Usor Community in Warri North LGA have both paid homage to the Olu of Warri , Ogiame Atuwatse III at the Palace in Warri,, Delta state.

Aja-Etan and Usor communities paid homage to Ogiame Atuwatse III Tuesday August 23 with large turnout of both communities indigenes from different parts of the country.

Chairman of Aja-Etan Community, Amb. Prince Billy Ekele said it is normal routine to always show loyalty and high regard and respect to the Olu who’s a father and symbol to all Itsekiri worldwide, he prayed for Ogiame Atuwatse III for long reign on the throne even as he celebrated his first year on the throne Saturday August 20 at Big Warri and climaxing it with Thanksgiving service Sunday August 21, 2022.

Amb. Ekele who also double as Secretary General of Usor community on behalf of the Chairman of Usor Mr. Sammy Egbeleokoro, commended the Olu of Warri for his innovation brought to Traditional institution of the kingdom and in Nigeria, describing it as more dignifying and a blessing to Warri and Delta state.

The Deputy Olare-Aja (Oldestl Man) of Aja-Etan, Pa Samson Agiren, members of the Community Trust, Youth executive, indigenes and well wishers of the community were among those that accompanied the community to pay homage to the Warri Monarch.

Usor community is also an oil and gas rich community playing host to multinationals operating in the Niger Delta, they were lead to the homage paying at the Palace by the Olare-Aja (Oldest Man) Pa Otsemaye Uwanikone, the community Trust executive/members of the community , others include Chairman of the community Youth executive, Raymond Aderojor and friends.

On behalf of the entire membership of the APC National Youth Council, South-South Zone (APC NYC S/S), we would like to commend our leader President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC led Federal Government for the renewal of pipeline surveillance contract to the foremost Niger Delta former freedom fighter, High Chief Government Oweizide Ek­pemupolo alias Tompolo. The renewal of the surveillance contract is one of the best achievements the Buhari administration has done for the region since inception of the government. Special appreciation to the Honourable Petroleum Minister, Chief Timipre Silva and all that put efforts to secure the renewal of the contract to him and others. The renewal of the contract is a welcome development.

We congratulate the foremost Niger Delta activist Tompolo on his pipeline security surveil­lance contract renewed by the Federal Govern­ment. Tompolo is for the youths and the youths are for him; he loves the people and he is loved by the people. He understands the Niger Delta terrains, knows the who is who and possessed the capacity to safeguard the oil pipelines, protect the environment and secure the needed peace to the region.

We recalled that Tompolo was recently given the renewal of the pipeline security surveillance contract to the tune of 4 billion naira monthly by the Federal Government to secure oil pipelines and eliminate oil theft.

We the APC NYC S/S reteirate our commitment to support all south south critical stakeholders and leaders that are genuinely interested in the wellbeing of the youths towards securing peace and development in the region. Today, we want to assure Tompolo of our complete and unreserved loyalty and commitment to the project.

CSO backs award of crude oil surveillance contract to Tompolo

*As DYC Boss Lauds FG’s Engagement Of Tompolo In Pipelines Surveillance

A Coalition of Arewa Civil Society Groups has thrown its support behind the Federal Government over the crude oil surveillance contract awarded to Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) through the NNPC.

The coalotion made its position known through its spokesman Mallam Aminu Abbas at a press conference held at the Arewa House Kaduna on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022.

It faulted the condemnation of the contract award by “a faceless Arewa Group”, saying that President Muhammedu Buhari should be commended for taking the right decision because “our national asset will be secured even more by engaging the host communities.”

“High Chief Expemuoplo is a son of the soil and he has all it takes to bring about the significant, visible improvement in that particular tasks. So therefore, we commend President Muhammedu Buhari for his approval and we equally pass a vote of confidence on the state minister of petroleum resources and the GMD of NNPC limited for following due process in awarding of the said contract.

“The transparent and due process followed before the award of the said contract further proves to us that they are for the interest and development of our country,” the coalition said.

DYC Boss Lauds FG’s Engagement Of Tompolo In Pipelines Surveillance

Meanwhile, President General of Delta Youth Coalition (DYC), a frontline political pressure group in Nigeria, Mr. Chibuzor Agunwa (aka Mr. Dash), has lauded the move by the federal government to award surveillance contract to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, saying his engagement will further enhance the enabling environment needed for accelerated national economic growth.

Mr. Chibuzor Agunwa, described High Chief Government Ekpemupolo as a reputable leader in the Niger Delta region who thinks of the people before himself, adding that the former warlord has invested a lot in human, capital and infrastructure developments towards attaining peace and stability in the region and the country in general.

He mentioned that the engagement of Niger Deltans to protect oil facilities will reduce oil theft to the lowest level and also create a greater level of involvement of the people in the management of natural resources accruing from their region.

“I sincerely wish to thank the Federal Government for awarding the pipeline surveillance contract of protecting oil pipelines and installations in the Niger Delta to Tompolo.”

He assured that the Delta Youth Coalition will continue to support good governance, saying that DYC will sustain its proactive efforts and support in ensuring that the right people are put into the right positions for the benefit of all.

Mr. Dash explained that DYC has been established in the 25 local government areas of Delta state to ensure good governance.

He said that the vision of DYC was to fill the yawning gap between the leaders and the electorate by forming alignment of bringing political benefits, dividend of democracy to the grass root.

According to him, the mission of Delta Youth Coalition (DYC) is “Promoting community activities by collaborating with different organization to promote peace and harmony among citizens in the state, through joint action that will benefit the people and their communities by way of initiating programs for youth empowerment.”

The Olu of Warri His Majesty Ogiame Atuwstse III has been described as the traditional ruler who has epitomized and digitalised royalty in Nigeria as well as Africa and the entire world  n general.

This historic eulogy declaration was made Sunday August 21 in Warri by the President Itsekiri National Youth Council. INYC, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, during the thanksgiving service climaxing the first coronation anniversary of His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri. Comrade Agbas as fondly called hailed the Olu for his successful ascension of the pristine throne for the past 365 days.

President Agbas noted that the Olu of Warri coronation programme which is held annually may be varied to accommodate some cultural display from some Itsekiri communities not in some edition.

The INYC Boss reiterated that Ogiame Atuwatse III has made Royalty modernised to the admiration of many, making Him unique the way he carries himself and the throne and that they have never seen Royalty display in the current form before his reign.

Comrade Agbateyiniro and his members in INYC paid homage to the Warri Monarch and prayed for his long reign and prosperity to Iwere nation.

Ogbako Ndi Anambra Football competition: Oraifite defeats Igboukwu, lifts trophy

The Ogbako Ndi Anambra, which is the gathering of all Anambra People in Delta South and Central in its organized football competition Oraifite United defeated Igboukwu FC by 5:3 on penalty kicks to lift the trophy.

The keenly and well entertained football match played at the Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Lpitch in Warri ended goalless at the full time of 90 minutes played before heading to penalty kicks whereby Oraifite converted all their five kicks and Igboukwu missing scoring of their other kicks.

Speaking shortly after the encounter, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Okowa and Chairman Organizing Committee, Ogbako Ndi Anambra, football tournament, Nze Francis Onuora said it is borne out of the joy for the creation of Anambra State which was created August 27, 1991, noting that because they are proud as people from Anambra for the creation the state the state hence they are celebrating the state.

Nze Onuora congratulated the winning team which happens to be from his community on a well deserved victory, he called on well wishers and lover of Ndi Anambra to come celebrate with them at Urhobo College Sunday August 28, 2022 for the Anambra Day celebration.

President General Ogbako Ndi Anambra, Prince Iruka Umeodunukwe, noted that Anambra people are great people in all spheres of live, making them the most industrious in Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of the President General, Vice Chairman Ogbako Ndi Anambra Delta South and Central, Peter Iruka, stressed that Anambra people are doing well in education, sports, business and industry , he congratulated the winner assuring that the committee will review the competition to make it an annual event.
