The Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Community Development, Amb. Dr. Toyin Agbolaya, has commended his boss for what he described as milestone development project approvals in Warri communities.
The projects approved by Governor Oborevwori during State Exco include rehabilitation/asphalt overlay of Olu Palace Road/Ugbori/Ekurede-Itsekiri Road, and the construction of Orugboh Roads in Warri South Local Government Area.
Others include a contract for the direct electrification project extending from Warri to Ode Itsekiri, Orugbo, and three other Itsekiri communities in Delta State.
While highlighting the importance of the project to the Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality, Dr. Agbolaya described the project as a remarkable achievement by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration that has bolstered the confidence of Deltans in Governor Oborevwori.
The Special Adviser stressed that the historic development marks the first time in over 500 years that the ancestral homelands of the Itsekiri people would receive direct access to electricity.
Dr. Agbolaya urged the Itsekiri nation and indeed all Deltans to continue supporting the Governor, knowing fully well that he has proven beyond doubt that he is indeed a Governor for all Deltans, stressing that Deltans should continue praying for the Governor to succeed.
He appreciated the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, for his visionary leadership, saying, “In your reign, light has come to our ancestral home.”
