Delta State Government has approved the presentation of Staff of Office to the Ovie of Udu Kingdom in Udu Local Government of the State.
The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP FCIA, expressed profound appreciation to the Delta State Executive Council, presided over by the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the swift ratification and approval of the presentation of the Staff of Office to the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Engr. Mike Oghenovo Orugbo, Okporua I, during the State Executive Council meeting held Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Government House, Asaba.
In his statement, Olorogun Oyibode lauded Governor Oborevwori for his charismatic leadership, visionary governance, and developmental strides across the state, describing the Governor as a leader with a heart for the people.
He noted that the prompt approval of the Staff of Office presentation signifies the Governor’s respect for traditional institutions and his commitment to promoting peace, unity, and cultural heritage across Delta State.
“On behalf of the good people of Udu Local Government, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the entire Delta State Executive Council for their timely approval of this historic event. Udu people are most grateful, and we remain firmly committed to the Governor’s MORE Agenda,” Oyibode stated.
While congratulating HRM Engr. Mike Oghenovo Orugbo, Okporua I, on the new milestone, the Udu Council Boss prayed for divine wisdom, peace, and sustainable development throughout his reign.
“I pray that the Almighty God endows our revered monarch with the wisdom of Solomon to lead the Udu Kingdom to greater heights, fostering peace, progress, and unity among our people,” Oyibode added.
The approval paves the way for the formal presentation of the Staff of Office to the Udu monarch, which will be scheduled for a later date in a ceremony that is expected to further strengthen the traditional institution and promote harmony in the kingdom.
