Ehiwarior Seeks Collaboration To Develop Ika South LGA
The Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior has stressed the need for all hands to be on deck for the accelerated and sustainable development of the local government area.
Ehiwarior made the call last weekend at Ekuku Agbor, while joining the community to celebrate the New Yam Festival. He disclosed that the call had become imperative because of his desire to see a prosperous and economically- vibrant Ika South Local Government Area.
The Chairman, who expressed joy over renewed social and economic activities since the restoration of electricity in Ekuku Agbor and the neighbouring communities, said he was hopeful that the modern market being built in the community, when completed, would boost commerce and other social activities in the area, thereby increasing the earning power of the people.
He commended the people, particularly the youths, for the peace prevalent in the community and urged them to sustain the tempo. He also appreciated the traditional head, chiefs, men and women for their different roles in maintaining peaceful coexistence.
According to him, “security is a major plank of this administration. We view peace and security as the vital elixir needed for the sustainable development of our dear local government area. I am glad to note that there has been improved security not only in Ekuku Agbor, but across the entire local government area. And we must ensure the situation is kept under control.”
He commended security agencies and the different community vigilantes in the area, for working assiduously to maintain a secure and peaceful environment.
Ehiwarior, while pledging his administration’s commitment to improving on infrastructure across the local government area, commended the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his bold economic reforms that had led to improved financial receipts for the nation.
He also lauded the Delta State Governor, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, for his administration’s numerous development imprints in Ika South Local Government Area, especially the recently awarded multi-billion naira flyover project at Utomi Junction, which he added, would significantly improve human and vehicular traffic and commercial activities in that axis of the local government area,, and for the restoration of power to Ekuku Agbor and adjoining communities, among others.
