Landmark Book Launch: George Ugbomah to Chair event on Data Privacy Law
A former Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. George Ugbomah, has been named Chairman of a high-profile book launch that is poised to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s growing discourse on digital rights and data governance.
The event, scheduled for Tuesday, 18th November 2025, will take place at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Admiralty University of Nigeria, along the Asaba–Ugwashi-Ukwu Road.
Hosted by the Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University, Prof. Christopher Bankole Ndubuisi, who serves as the Chief Host, the ceremony will also feature renowned legal luminary Dr. Anthony Idigbe, SAN, as the Chief Launcher, further elevating the intellectual and professional weight of the occasion.
The book, titled “Breaking Frontiers in Data Privacy and Protection Law in Nigeria,” is expected to offer forward-looking perspectives on data privacy, cybersecurity, digital regulation, and the rights of citizens in an increasingly interconnected world.
Stakeholders say the publication arrives at a critical moment, as Nigeria intensifies efforts to refine its legal and institutional frameworks for data protection.
Scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers, students, and members of the public are encouraged to attend what organisers describe as a historic knowledge-sharing platform designed to deepen national understanding of data privacy and shape the future of digital rights legislation.
