Popular footballer, Kassim dies as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-fitr in Warri
A popular footballer, Sule Kassim has died as Muslims celebrate the Eidel-Fitri in Warri,Delta State. The deceased,a midfielder who played for Invincible Leopard Football Club slept on Thursday night and could not wake up on Friday morning where he was pronounced dead by his family members.
The Waziri Sarkin Hausawa of Warri and Environ, Adamu Muhammad Sanusi confirmed the death of the deceased in a chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.
He said we received with shock the news of Sule Kassim who died this morning.
According to him,”Sule was a senior brother,friend and father to us. He started playing football in his very young age.
He played for Invincible Leopard and Globe-Star. We are praying for him in the Eid-el-fitr Celebration that Allah grant his soul rest.”
For the past three days,he had complained he wasn’t feeling too well as he does know how his body is doing him.
His remains has been taken to the Hausa Quarters Central Mosque in Igbudu where prayers shall be held in his honour in line with Muslim doctrines/teachings as part of activities commemorating the Eid-el-fitr celebration.
Sanusi also urged Nigerians especially Muslims and Christians to be united and shun all forms of religious intolerance.
Sanusi said,”That’s the only we can move forward as a people and as a Country.”
