The former member that represented Okpe, Sapele, and Uvwie Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Efe Afe, the immediate past Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi, Esq., as well as ace Journalist Celestine Ukah, have both showered praise on Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Anietie Akpan Eyoh, as he launched two books he co-authored in Effurun near Warri, Delta State.
The distinguished personalities were on Saturday August 23 at Wellington Hotel Hall, joined by others to express laud appreciation to ACP Eyoh for his steadfast love in ensuring the security and safety of all residents wherever he is posted to discharge his duties.
Chairman of the book launch and immediate past Warri South LGC Boss, Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi, Esq., in his welcome address, commended ACP Anietie Eyoh and the co-author, Rev. Sis. Dr. Maria Chinecherem Uzonwanne, who is also an Associate Professor at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, for their effort in putting their thoughts together on security.
Dr. Tidi, while making his remarks on the book titles: Police Operational Strategy and Tactical Leadership for Enhanced Professionalism and Economic Impact, and the second book: Policing and the Perils of Duty: Understanding the Clauses of Careless Death among Police Officers, said policing isn’t the duty of one agency alone.
He urged all citizens to perform the sacred duty of policing, adding that to produce two books such as the authors have done is deep and foresighted, noting that ACP Eyoh and Rev. Sis. Uzonwanne have both contributed to the growth and advancement of society.
In his goodwill message, ace Journalist Celestine Ukah also lauded ACP Eyoh for his dedication and exceptional visionary skills in policing, especially in crime fighting and reforms wherever he has served.
Journalist Ukah described ACP Eyoh as a dogged and gallant police officer who had a good relationship with the media while he was in Warri and also as an architect of modern police Divisional Stations across Delta State and beyond.
The book reviewers, Prof. Uju Ezenekwe of the Department of Economics, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Unizik, Awka, and Prof. Mary Olire Edema, noted that the two books talk about the use of technology in carrying out modern policing as well as caution on leaders to remain calm under pressure in order not to make mistakes, even as it also recognizes the role of traditional institutions in security.
Others who gave goodwill addresses include the immediate past Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Chief Mrs. Divine Iniovosa, Chief Linda Ikpuri, Delta State NURTW Chairman, Chief Francis Arhiyor represented by Chief Friday Agbaja, Comrade Victor Ojei-Wongbox, Comrade Daniel Oji, and Kelvin Ejumudo.
The high point of the event was the public presentation of the two books, launching as well as donations.
