Abia Warriors Pay Courtesy Visit to Legendary, Ikwunze,  Mr. Football

Abia Warriors Football Club have paid a heartfelt visit to Mr. Ejikeme Ikwunze, affectionately known as Mr. Football, at his Umuawa Alaocha country home in Umuahia, Abia State.

The visit was a gesture of goodwill and respect to Mr Ikwunze who was a former Chairman of Abia Warriors Football Club and a renowned sports administrator.

Led by Elder Godson Eluwa, the club’s Secretary, the delegation conveyed greetings from the club Chairman, Coach John Sam Obuh, who insisted on the visit, but was unavoidably absent due to other engagements, and updated Mr. Football on the club’s progress.

Mr. Football, hailed as the “Nigeria Football Encyclopedia,” expressed his joy and gratitude for the visit, offering prayers for a successful 2025/2026 season for Umu Chineke.

During the visit, Mr. Football, who was also a former Director of Sports in Abia State, shared some of his notable literary works with the delegation.

His book, “World Cup (1930 – 2010) A Statistical Summary,” is particularly noteworthy, being one of the many approved books in the FIFA library.

The delegation concluded their visit by wishing Mr. Football a speedy recovery from an injury he sustained in the past.

This visit showcases the strong bond between Abia Warriors and Mr. Football, a legendary figure in Nigerian football.
