SWAN Settles Rift With Kaduna Polo Club, Resumes Coverage
The rift between the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter and the Kaduna Polo Club, organisers of the Kaduna International Polo Tournament has been resolved amicably.
A statement jointly signed by the SWAN Chairman, Shehu Abdullahi and Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, dated Wednesday October 22, 2025, said that both parties met on Tuesday October 21 and the grey areas were addressed.
It informed that the meeting at the instance of the Kaduna Polo Club, had in attendance, it’s First Vice President, General Kapeh Kazir (Rtd) and Secretary of the club, Abubakar Mohammed Sadiq.
SWAN was represented at the meeting by its Kaduna State Chairman, Shehu Abdullahi and Financial Secretary, Idris Dari respectively.
The statement said that both parties discussed ways of fostering partnership, to further develop sports, particularly the game of polo.
“All our members are therefore, advised to with immediate effect, give the 2025 Kaduna International Polo Tournament maximum coverage, as management of the Kaduna Polo Club have demonstrated willingness to effectively partner and accord the necessary cooperation,” it added.
