Perekebena Omoun is one of the few former Local Government Area Chairmen of Patani who assumed office with a genuine commitment to serve rather than to enrich himself. His contributions included providing diesel to power the Patani General Hospital, supporting hospital staff, and distributing back-to-school materials to hundreds of pupils across Patani.
He was actively giving back to society long before he was saddled with the responsibility of serving as Council Chairman. During his tenure, he delivered on his mandate as the Chief Administrative Officer of Patani LGA. He remained accessible, lived among the people, and ensured that residents felt a sense of belonging and security. He was often present in his office, attending to the needs of the people, listening to their complaints, and providing solutions.
Omoun is a successful businessman, a trained lawyer, and a grassroots politician who has been actively involved in politics since 1999. While in office as LGA Chairman, he initiated programs aimed at supporting small businesses and motivating farmers within Patani LGA, thereby boosting food production and ensuring bountiful harvests.
He is tested and trusted, with the social and political wherewithal required to legislate effectively and attract development to Patani State Constituency. As a lawyer, he possesses the skills to navigate the legislative process, initiate bills, and influence policies that will lead to functional institutions and sustainable development.
