Bayelsa PDP CTC Establishes New Directorates, Plans New Appointments

The Bayelsa State Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Barr. George Turnah, says it has established no fewer than eight new Directorates and would also make key appointments for effective and efficient party administration.

In a statement by the Caretaker Committee’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Derri Wright, the Party said the move is to strengthen the administrative structure and enhance internal cohesion and effective service delivery within the party.

The statement added that the Directorates will be headed by Directors who would be appointed from each of the eight Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State to ensure that the governance structure of the party reflects the diverse opinions of party members and faithful and the various interests they are serving.

The statement called on all party members to support the development and work in unity for the common goal of serving the people and the state.

The statement reads: “These Directorates will be headed by Directors to be appointed from each of the eight Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State, ensuring that our governance structure reflects the diverse voices of our party members and the various interests we serve.

“In addition to the newly created Directorates, the Chairman has also approved the formation of eight (8) Special Advisers portfolios, eight (8) Senior Special Assistants roles, and nine (9) Special Assistants offices as a strategic enhancement designed to bolster our governance structure and provide strong support mechanisms for effective leadership within the party.

“In line with this initiative, the Acting Chairman will appoint at least one party member from each of the 24 State Constituencies across the 8 LGAs, ensuring that each LGA has at least one Director, one Special Adviser, one Senior Special Assistant, and one Special Assistant.

“By creating these 24 openings, we aim to foster unity and strengthen our bond as a family. This will ensure that every nook and cranny of the State feels included and experiences the impact of the Party’s leadership.

“It will also increase commitment among party members and create a sense of ownership. Above all, this structure will support the LGAs and wards structures of the Party and bridge the gap between the grassroots and the State Secretariat.

“Those to be appointed shall be entitled to receive such monthly salaries and allowances as may be provided for in the harmonised staff salary structure of the Party, currently under review by the new leadership of the Party in the State.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering equitable representation and a collective approach to governance, which will ultimately benefit all members of the Party and the people of Bayelsa State.

“We believe that these groundbreaking initiatives will facilitate better communication, coordination, and collaboration among our members, leading to improved service delivery and a more vibrant party structure in the state.”

The statement listed the newly created Directorates, Special Adviser portfolios, Senior Special Assistant roles, as well as Special Assistant offices to include:
