OND0 STATE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION MOURNS PASSING OF ADEGBOYE ONIGBINDE

The Ondo State Football Association has received with deep sadness the news of the passing of former Super Eagles coach, Adegboye Onigbinde, who died at the age of 88 on Monday.

The Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association, Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi, described the late Onigbinde as a towering figure in Nigerian football whose immense contributions to the growth and development of the game will never be forgotten.

Ajayi noted that the late tactician was not only a respected coach but also a mentor and administrator whose wealth of experience helped shape modern football development in Nigeria.

“His dedication, discipline and passion for the game inspired generations of players, coaches and football administrators across the country.

“Chief Onigbinde was a true patriot of Nigerian football. His legacy as one of the country’s finest tacticians and a builder of the game will continue to serve as a reference point for the development of football in Nigeria,” the statement said.

The Ondo State FA commiserates with his family, the football community and the entire nation over this great loss, praying that God grants his soul eternal rest and gives his loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
