Courtesy Visit: Agbolayah assures Security agencies of effective collaboration as he leads Community PGs, Political Appointees to Delta CP
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Community Development, Amb. (Dr) Toyin Orighomisan Agbolayah JP, has promised to uphold the state government’s sustained partnership between security agencies and community leaders for effective security and socio-economic development in the state.
Dr. Toyin Agbolayah, made this known when he led the Chairman of the Delta State Forum of Kingdoms and Clans/Communities Presidents-General, Prince Igwe Nzekwe and Political Appointees attached to the Office of the Special Adviser on Community Development on a courtesy visit to the new Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola at the Command’s Headquarters on Thursday February 5, in Asaba, where he presented a plague to the Commissioner to formally welcome him back to Delta, haven earlier served in a different capacity.
The Special Adviser reiterated the state government’s support for security agencies in the state, assuring that his office would ensure regular communication with the security agencies and Presidents-General across all communities in the state to prevent misinformation which could lead to breakdown of law and order.
While commending the security agencies for their unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and properties, he used the medium to appeal to kingdom Presidents-General to continue to assist the government and security agencies to ensure that criminal elements in the society were not allowed to succeed in their acts.
“Let me, on behalf of political appointees attached to the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Development assure you that our collaboration in supporting the course of peaceful coexistence across all communities of the state is a task that must be done and we are here to make it succeed.
“Here at the Office of the Special Adviser on Community Development, we will continue to collaborate with the security agencies for effective security in line with the Governor’s MORE Agenda which is to enhance peace and security.
“No doubt the Police Command have continued to play a very big role in enhancing peace and security in the state and we quite appreciate. With you now in the helm of affairs, we believe you and your team will continue the good work. I sincerely congratulate you and formally welcome you on board.
“Our Governor is a peace loving person and from his assumption of office as Governor, he promised Deltans to ensure that they have peace and with more synergy with the security agencies and community leaders across the state, there is no way we cannot have peace.”
Responding, CP Aina Adesola thanked His Excellency the Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for having the Office of the Special Adviser on Community Development all for the sole purpose of ensuring peace and development in the grassroots. He went further to appreciate the Special Adviser and his team for the timely visit.
The CP, while promising to give full cooperation to partnering the Office of the Special Adviser to win fight against crime, assured that the command will continue to work round the clock to secure life and property in the state, which, according to him, is the primary responsibility of the government and the nigerian police.
He pledged that under his leadership as Commissioner of Police, residents would continue to sleep with two eyes closed, as the police would work tirelessly to ensure lasting peace in the state.
