Ereyitomi sympathises with Chief Otumara’s family, Political Associates over his demise

The Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency at the Hoses of Representatives and Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Training Trust Funds, Hon. Chief Dr. Thomas Ereyitomi has expressed sadness over the death of Delta’s former Commissioner for Health, Hon. Chief Dr. Joseph Sisanmi Otumara.
Chief Ereyitomi while condoling the family and political Associates of Chief Dr. Otumara over his said Dr. Otumara was a political leader in Warri South and former three times Chairman of Popular Warri South LGA with political adminstrative prowess.
Chief Joseph Otumara, who was the Obarisuwa of Warri Kingdom, passed Friday June 12.
Rep Ereyitomi notes that late Chief Dr. Otumara as Chairman of the Warri Uvwie and Environs Development Agency (WUEDA), consistently demonstrated exceptional administrative capacity, visionary leadership, and an abiding commitment to the public good of all citizens.

With profound sadness and a deep sense of loss I received the news of the passing of Chief Dr. Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, Obarisuwa of Warri Kingdomâa distinguished medical practitioner, accomplished administrator, respected statesman, and one of the most influential political figures to emerge from Delta South Senatorial District.
His transition marks the end of an era in the political and socio-economic development of Warri, Delta South, and Delta State. For decades, Chief Otumara stood as a symbol of purposeful leadership, public service, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of his people.
He distinguished himself as a medical doctor, through professional excellence and compassionate service to humanity. Through Alpha Hospital, which he founded and led, he touched countless lives and earned the respect of colleagues and patients alike. His contributions to the healthcare sector extended far beyond clinical practice, finding greater expression in public administration, where he championed policies and initiatives that improved access to healthcare and enhanced the well-being of citizens across Delta State.
His record in public service remains remarkable. From his tenure as Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council to his service as Commissioner for Health, Commissioner for Housing, Commissioner for Special Duties, and later as Chairman of the Warri Uvwie and Environs Development Agency (WUEDA), Chief Otumara consistently demonstrated exceptional administrative capacity, visionary leadership, and an abiding commitment to the public good.
Beyond the offices he occupied, Chief Otumara distinguished himself as a builder of people and institutions. He was a mentor to many, a trusted adviser to leaders, and a rallying point for those seeking guidance in public life. To the people of Warri Federal Constituency, Chief Otumara was a dependable leader whose influence transcended politics. He remained deeply invested in the growth and development of our communities and was always willing to lend his voice, experience, and support to causes that promoted peace, progress, and collective prosperity.
Indeed, Delta State has lost a consummate public servant, the medical profession has lost a distinguished practitioner, and the political community has lost one of its most respected voices. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of working with him, learning from him, or benefiting from his generosity and leadership.
While we mourn his passing, we are also grateful to Almighty God for a life of uncommon accomplishment and enduring impact. Chief Dr. Joseph Sisanmi Otumara leaves behind a legacy defined by service, integrity, excellence, and dedication to humanity. His contributions to healthcare, governance, community development, and political leadership will remain an enduring part of the history of Warri, Delta South, and Delta State.
