Execute Long-abandoned Model Secondary School Project In Agudama-Epie, Community Appeals To Gov. Diri

Yenagoa: The people of Agudama-Epie Community in Yenagoa LGA, Bayelsa State, have appealed to *Governor Senator Douye Diri* to complete the long-abandoned Model Secondary School project in their area.
According to the community, the project was initiated in 2007 by former Governor, *Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan*. Successive administrations also played vital roles, but the project was never completed.
The Commissioner for Education, *Hon. Gentle Emelah*, said the school is a state government-funded community project. He noted that some challenges led to work on the project being stopped.
_”The project is known to government,”_ Hon. Emelah stated. _”It is a community secondary school, and due to some issues the project was abandoned. But government will look into it within a short time and very soon we will mobilize the relevant contractor back to site.”_
The Women Leader of Agudama-Epie, *Mrs. Loveth Ogon*, also appealed to the state government and Governor Diri to intervene and ensure the completion of the school.
She said completing the Model Secondary School would give children in Agudama-Epie and neighboring communities access to quality education without traveling long distances.
Also speaking, the former Youth President of Agudama-Epie Community, *Comrade Monovie France*, appealed to the state government led by the “miracle Governor” *Sen. Douye Diri* to execute the project.
He added that completing the school would enable pupils in the area to access education easily.
Community stakeholders expressed hope that the present administration will prioritize the project and bring relief to the people.
