Oborevwori Greets Akugbene-Mein Monarch, HRM Pere Luke-Kalanama VIII, At 60
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated with the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, HRM Stanley Perediegha Luke-Kalanama VIII (JP), as the revered monarch marks his 60th birth anniversary on July 8.
Governor Oborevwori described the traditional ruler, who is the First Vice Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, as a distinguished royal father whose leadership, wisdom and commitment to peace and development have continued to make significant impact in his kingdom and across the state.
In a goodwill message by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon in Asaba, the Governor praised the monarch for his more than 28 years of dedicated service on the throne, noting that his reign had been marked by purposeful leadership, stability and sustained advocacy for the welfare of his people.
He said Pere Luke-Kalanama VIII had earned widespread respect as one of Delta State’s articulate and influential traditional rulers, whose voice and contributions had strengthened the traditional institution and advanced constructive engagement on issues affecting the state.
Oborevwori also acknowledged the monarch’s years of service within the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, recalling that he had earlier served as Second Vice Chairman before rising to his present position as First Vice Chairman.
The Governor further applauded the royal father’s passion for human capital development, particularly his investment in education through scholarship opportunities for deserving subjects of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom.
According to him, the monarch’s support for education reflects a deep understanding of the role of knowledge and youth empowerment in building stronger communities and securing a better future for coming generations.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta State, I warmly congratulate HRM Stanley Perediegha Luke-Kalanama VIII (JP), Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, on the joyous occasion of his 60th birth anniversary on July 8.
“Your Majesty’s 28 years on the throne have been characterised by dedicated service, wise counsel and an unwavering commitment to the progress of your people and the advancement of the traditional institution in Delta State.
“As you celebrate this important milestone, it is my prayer that Almighty God will continue to bless you with sound health, greater wisdom, strength and many more fruitful years of service to your kingdom, Delta State and our dear country,” Governor Oborevwori said.
