Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP) for Warri Federal Constituency, Chief Dr. Sheriff Mulade, has officially flagged off his campaign in Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The campaign flag-off, held on Tuesday, climaxed with a historic visit to the Olare-Aja of Koko Community. Mulade was accompanied by a team of supporters and party faithful during the visit.

The NDP candidate, who received a warm welcome from the Olare-Aja and members of the community, expressed satisfaction with the show of love and impressive turnout. He thanked the traditional institution and the people for their hospitality and support.

Mulade also appreciated all those who believe in his political aspiration and commitment to providing better representation for the people of Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.

During the visit, he unveiled his seven-point agenda, highlighting key areas of development, including unity, employment generation and women empowerment.

On unity, Mulade emphasised the importance of strengthening relationships among the three ethnic groups in Warri Federal Constituency — Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo — noting that the development and progress of the constituency depend largely on peaceful coexistence and unity among its people.
On employment generation, he highlighted his plan to pursue the revival and development of Koko Seaport as a strategic initiative to create employment opportunities for youths and stimulate economic activities in the area.

Speaking on women empowerment, the NDP candidate stressed the need to revive skills acquisition centres to equip women and young girls with vocational and entrepreneurial skills that would promote economic independence and sustainable livelihoods.

Dr. Mulade reaffirmed his commitment to providing effective and purposeful representation if elected to the Green Chamber, assuring the people that his administration would restore hope, promote good governance and attract meaningful development to the constituency.

He subsequently received royal prayers from the traditional institution of Koko community.

In his remarks, Elder Edward Daibo, representative of the Olomu family of Koko Community, thanked Mulade for choosing Koko as the venue for the official flag-off of his campaign for the House of Representatives election.

Daibo expressed confidence in Mulade’s political aspiration, stressing that Koko Community had long been yearning for effective representation that would attract the needed infrastructure, institutional reforms and developmental projects.

He assured the NDP candidate of the community’s support, adding that the people were eager for a new era of purposeful leadership and development.

“Today, a light of hope has come, and it has come to stay,” Daibo declared.
