Withdrew Majority FM licence in Rivers – Abati tells NBC

By: Ella Akpa

Dr. Ruben Abati, an Arise TV anchor, has called on the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to, as a matter of urgency, withdraw the majority FM licence granted to the radio station in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Dr. Abati stated this on the Arise TV Morning Show on Monday, February 9. He strongly condemned the radio station, which he said is against NBC law and the Broadcasting Code of the country.

He maintained that no broadcasting establishment can be purely for political purposes, as it is a danger and won’t reflect well on Nigeria and its people, cautioning that it should be jettisoned. He was reacting to the FCT Minister, Wike, who commissioned the FM radio station in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for the sole aim of the Renewed Hope Agenda campaign.
