NFF President Visits Niger State Governor, Pledges Continued Support For Football Infrastructure Development
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa, MON (Kigon Gusau), today Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Niger State, His Excellency Mohammed Umar Bago, where he reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to supporting the development of football infrastructure in the state.
The NFF President was in Niger State on an inspection tour of the ongoing renovation of the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium in Minna.
During the visit, Alh Ibrahim Musa MON (Kigon Gusau) commended Governor Bago for prioritising sports infrastructure, noting that it was important for the NFF to inspect the project following positive reports on the renovation work.
He further assured the Niger State Government of the NFF’s continued support towards the development of football infrastructure and grassroots football, stressing that quality sporting facilities are essential for nurturing young talents and advancing the game across the country.
In his remarks, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago appreciated the NFF President for the visit and reiterated his administration’s commitment to revitalising sports in the state.
He explained that the renovation of the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium became necessary because the facility had existed for many years and required a comprehensive overhaul.
The Governor also disclosed that the establishment of the Niger State Sports Commission was aimed at eliminating bureaucratic bottlenecks in sports administration, adding that the commission would oversee and coordinate all sporting activities in the state more effectively.
