**Accuses Bomadi Council Boss, Dagidi of alleged involvement
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP Delta State Chapter says the destruction of Billboards of oppositions and that of PDP candidates posters in Bomadi Local Government Area is an invitation to Anarchy and social unrest in the system.
According to the Delta State PDP Chapter Press statement made available to journalists and signed by Chief Kingsley Akpos Oturubo, Publicity Secretary accused, the Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Andaye Dagidi of allegedly destroying posters and billboards of opposition political parties in Bomadi town. A video our members sent to us from Bomadi has shown that the Council Chairman has allegedly destroyed all the billboards of Dr. Louis Otuisi, the PDP candidate for the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency.
The PDP stated further thus: “We heard it on good authority that the said Hon. Dagidi is claiming that he was directed by the Governor of Delta State to pull down posters and billboards of opposition political parties. We believe that Governor Sheriff cannot give such directives, a practice only entertained by thugs. This is an invitation to anarchy.
“Hon. Dagidi Andaye should stop his provocative act of thuggery and brigandage. He should immediately reinstall every damaged billboards of Dr. Otuisi Louis (DLO). Nigeria is practicing mult-party democracy and Bomadi LGA cannot be an exception”.
“PDP urged all its Party faithful and teaming supporters to remain law abiding even in the face of this unprovoked assault. The Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. (Hon.) Elder Sheriff Oborevwori should call Dagidi to order. The Bomadi Council Boss should not repeat this despicable and barbarous act of brigandage. Security agencies should take note of Hon. Dagidi’s lawlessness in Bomadi Local Government Area. He should be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order in the Council. PDP cannot condone such lawlessness in anywhere in the State.
“If Dagidi repeats this primitive act of lawlessness to destroy PDP candidates’ billboards then we will petition the security agents for his arrest. None of DLO’s billboards were illegally installed. Dagidi should therefore not stoke inter-party crisis. As the Chairman of the Council, he is supposed to be the chief security officer. We are surprised that such a man has reduced himself to a political thug or gangster to be destroying people’s property.
“If the Chairman does not know or understand his position as a public office holder then we will teach him what the law says he should do. It is so embarrassing that a public office holder has turned himself to a thug or street urchin to be perpetrating criminal acts to heat up the polity. The standard in public governance has gone embarrassingly low. We are so disappointed in some of the persons we elect to govern us’.
