The Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Chief Dr. Thomas Ereyitomi, has congratulated the children of Warri Federal Constituency, Delta State and across Nigeria, as they mark this year’s day.

Rep Ereyitomi, in his goodwill message on Tuesday, May 27, to the children, charged Warri Federal Constituency children to be good ambassadors of their parents, shun vices, and be of good behavior so that they can have a brighter future.

Chief Ereyitomi notes that Children’s Day is an event celebrated in all parts of Nigeria, dding that the day is simply set to honour children and minors.

He reassured the children that he remains fully committed to fulfilling his promise of a better and prosperous Warri Federal Constituency for all people.

According to the Warri Federal Lawmaker, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources Training Funds, the task of training up a child should not be left for parents alone because when a child becomes irresponsible, the child will become a problem not just for the parents but for society at large.

Chief Ereyitomi appealed to parents not to relent in their efforts to send their wards to school, especially the girl child, as her education reduces infant and maternal mortality and prevents early and child marriages, pointing out that it also increases literacy and reduces poverty.

“To educate a woman is to educate the nation” is very apt in this regard. Our children are our future, and the initiatives that come from them give confidence that our country has a bright future,” Chief Ereyitomi stated.
