2023: Coalition Of Niger Delta Ex-agitators, Stakeholders Vow To Deliver Niger Delta For Tinubu

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, a coalition of ex-agitators and stakeholders in the Niger Delta region, Thursday, vowed to ensure landslide victory for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This was the resolve of five major groups of ex-agitators and stakeholders including peace advocacy groups in the Niger Delta region during a world press conference held in Warri, Delta State.

The essence of the crucial meeting with theme ‘Niger Delta Advocate for Peace and Good Governance Group, Concerned Niger Delta Ex-Militant Support Group for Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ was to critically assess the situation in the nine Niger Delta region and the forthcoming presidential election on who can really expedite the expected development in all communities, local government areas and states of the Niger Delta.

The coalition is made up of NIGER DELTA APC YOUTH VANGUARD, NIGER DELTA ADVOCATE FOR PEACE AND GOOD GOVERNANCE GROUP, CONCERNED NIGER DELTA EX-MILITANT SUPPORT GROUP FOR TINUBU AND VOICE OF NIGER DELTA ADVOCACY GROUP.

The convener of the coalition and also Founder, Niger Delta APC Youth Vanguard, ND-APC YV, GEN FIAWEI PATHFINDER, AKA OSAMA, explained that the conference became imperative because 2023 is a year of reshaping and putting the region at a vintage by far-reaching decisions of these five major groups in the region as far as presidential candidates are concerned.

PATHFINDER said the region cannot sit and watch for its head to be shaved behind it by those who don’t mean well, hence the decision to give all support and commitment to the Tinubu presidency come 2023.

In his speech he unequivocally stated that the coalition has done its in-depth, independent analysis and scrutiny about issues plaguing the Niger Delta region over the years despite the sustenance and lifeline the region had given to the nation since 1956 after discovery of oil in commercial quantity at Oloibri Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa state.

According to him, while speaking on behalf of the coalition, declared that the only presidential candidate who can actualize the yearnings, aspirations and expectations of the communities in the creeks of the Nine States of the Niger Delta region is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Leaders and members of the five groups that made up the coalition in attendance respectively include; GEN FIAWEI PATHFINDER OF, NIGER DELTA APC YOUTH VANGUARD, DELTA STATE, GEN SOLOMON DEBEKEME of Concerned Niger Delta Ex-Militant Support Group for Tinubu Rivers State, Amb Douglas Oyakemeagbegha of Coalition of Niger Delta Youth Leaders; Sir AK Peters of Niger Delta Advocate for Peace and Good Governance, Cross River State; Amb Mrs Success Motajo and Amb Mrs Ebi Tinubu of Voice of Niger Delta, Bayelsa State; The reason these groups converged in Warri, Delta State for the crucial critical meeting conveyed by GENERAL FIAWEI PATHFINDER is not farfetched.

“We have deliberated on issues of National importance as it concerns state of the nation and the impacts on the Niger Delta region over the years, and have resolved unanimously to endorse and throw out weight behind the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Ibrahim as our preferred choice and whom we will follow as we have accepted them.

“We have also agreed to pull our wealth of experience, solid structures, and members together as we focus on one goal, which is to ensure landslide victory of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu in all local government areas of the Nine Niger Delta States come 2023.

“We have already hit the ground running to mobilize all electorates across the region and no stone will be left unturned as far as senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential election is concerned, we will have a resounding victory based on our grand strategy, especially at the grassroots.”

He added that, “The coalition of the five major groups that gathered for this meeting call on all sons and daughters in Niger Delta with Nigerians home and abroad to pitch tent with Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential bide due to his charismatic nature of nation building as a core democrat who believes in equity fairness and justice. The convener pointed that the Tinubu presidency is for the benefit of the Niger Delta region as he highlighted some facts behind their endorsement of Tinubu as the presidential candidate.

Since the major opposition political party, PDP, refused to pick its presidential candidate from the southern part of the country and now that the rulling party APC zoned their presidential candidate to the southern region of the country, which His Excellency SEN BOLA AHMED TINUBU, the former Gov of Lagos State is now the Presidential candidate from the southern part of the country, we are convinced that Senator Ahmed Tinubu will be the game changer that will re-write the sad story of the oil rich region.

“By extension, Sen BOLA AHMED TINUBU is a core believer of Niger Delta Struggle and it’s Resource control Agitation, it is on record Sen Ahmed Tinubu carried along the Ijaw people living in Lagos State when he was Governor of Lagos State by giving special attention to Elder Joseph Eva, National Coordinator of Ijaw Monitoring Group, from Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, and the Ijaw people living in Lagos State was carried along and treated as Lagosians.

“We want to unequivocally state at this juncture that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the only man who is willing to change the narrative of Niger Deltans and we see that he will take up the issue of underdevelopment of the Niger Delta region seriously and will give it a priority attention including other regions of the country when he is elected president of Nigeria, we are also optimistic and convinced that Sen BOLA AHMED TINUBU will turn things around for the betterment of ordinary Nigeria, He is a defender of democracy on the basis of Justice, Fairness and Equity.

“Sen BOLA AHMED TINUBU sacrificed all his life in agitating for the sustenance of our democracy even during the military era till date he is still committed to it because he has vowed to ensure a secured future of our children and children yet unborn.

“As a man of peace and justice, Nigerians would live peacefully together without tribal sentiment nor religion issues; where the Christians and Muslims can sit together and worship in the same worship center peacefully without rancour as brothers and as one indivisible country of men and women.

Help, Delta State Is Sinking economically ,politically, lacks development, Activist Mulade Cries Out

*Calls for restoration by Deltan Youths

Abuja: A Delta State born human and environmental justice advocate Comrade Mulade Sheriff has called for the restoration of Delta state, claiming that the state is sinking economically, politically and on human capital development.

The peace and development advocate who stated this in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) while speaking in Abuja with a cross session of Delta youths to mark International Youths Day, said the oil-rich State is sinking, describing it as the most economic suffering state in Nigeria, as a result of poor leadership and bad governance over the years.

While expressing his sadness towards the sorry situation of Delta State, Comrade Mulade noted that youths in the State have been reduced to political sycophancy and thuggery, claiming that; “Deve” or “Agbero” is the major job available to youths due to lack of employment and economic empowerment by the state government.

On political appointment by the present administration, he said the highest appointment the Governor can provide for the teeming youths in the state is Senior Special Advisers (SSA) and Special Advisers (SA), which placed them as government political thugs, rather than meaningful profession of serving the state, lamenting that “this is really disheartening”.

Comrade Mulade pointed to the fact that the state economy has continually dropped as a result of uncalculated borrowings and loans collected by the present administration with little or no development impact to the people of Delta state, “hence, this requires the collective efforts of all Deltans to rescue the state through collaboration, support and experience-sharing to assist in restoring the state to it past glory and to be envied by other states in the country” he added.

The Gbaramatu Kingdom born traditional Chief cum activist also claimed that, since the creation of Delta State, the state have been blessed and privileged to have had two renowned academic medical professionals as Governors as well as two legal icons as Deputy Governors, which ought to have brought real development and professionalism in government and as well placed the State above others in terms of academic development and as profession service providing state, but reverse is the case.

Buttressing his claims as regards the underperformance of past and present administrations, Comrade Mulade said, with Dr Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan and Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as governors of Delta State, the state was supposed to have and be the best health services providers in Nigeria, but that is not the case, “in fact it is a big shame to the State”.

On the part of deputy Governors, Comrade Sheriff said that,” Prof Amos Otuama and Barrister Kingsley Otuara both as deputy governors of the state were expected to show to the world, particularly Nigerian youths the importance of legal profession and education in governance, and to be law abiding state, but Delta State became the most lawless state in the nation without any recourse to human rights”.

The Environmentalist, while speaking on fixing and restoring the state to it lost glory, said that with the 2023 general elections fast approaching, Deltans, particularly the youths should choose wisely by voting the right candidates with technical knowledge of community development, environmental base orientation, street leadership qualities, youth and women development plans.

He said that; Someone that have deep and sincere concern for those living with disabilities, real sense for economic and education development and infrastructure, that will bring development to all parts of the state”.

He said when all Deltans come together to vote in the right people as Governor, Senators, House of Representative and State House of Assembly members, Delta state will be rescued and restored from the present underdevelopment and be great once again.
